The U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament annually attracts nearly 500 boats and is held in high esteem by both the community and anglers alike. The organizational meeting for Captains will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Southport Marina, tournament headquarters so don't miss it. The weigh-in station will be at Southport Marina. The check-in points will be from the Southport City Pier and South Harbour Marina Gas dock, ICW.
 
On tournament days, competition hours are 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, September 30 and 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 1.
