7th Annual Shrimp & Jazz Festival 2011

Sunset Beach received its name from the beautiful sunrises and sunsets that can be seen from the island due to its southern exposure. Sunset Beach vacation rental homes are set back away from the broad, three mile long shoreline.

The island here has a homey feel about it and quiet surroundings, but there is plenty to see and do. The area offers a few shops, a convenient market and deli, and a beach gear, bikes and kayak rentals shop all within walking distance to your Sunset Beach vacation rental. Kayak tours can be scheduled at the island’s Cooters Creek. A unique feature of the island is the bird sanctuary known as Bird Island, an undeveloped and secluded area that is now attached to Sunset Beach.

The mild climate here creates a great year round golfing environment and the money you save on your Sunset Beach vacation rental can be money you spend on more golfing! The Brunswick Islands are surrounded by over 30 public golf courses. Many of these were created by famous course designers including Arnold Palmer, Tim Cate, and Fred Couples.
